Turns out that the rumours were true concerning a BioShock movie. Universal Studios have just signed a deal to bring BioShock to the silver screen. Director Gore Verbinski who worked on such projects as Pirates of the Caribbean will direct and produce the picture while John Logan (writer for The Aviator) is attached to pen the screenplay.
In an interview with The Cut Scene, Verbinski discussed the BioShock project. Verbinski revealed that he is trying not to alienate the core of audience of the film by toning down some of the more twisted themes such as the little sisters.
Currently there is no set release date for the film but Verbinski mentioned that pre-production will begin once John Logan's script is green lighted.
