Mass Effect 2 has just been confirmed for PCs by BioWare developer Matt Atwood. Atwood said in an inteview with videogamer.com that,
We haven't announced plans for timing on Mass Effect 2, period, so at this point we're not really ready to talk about it, but because we've got a really great PC fan base we think it's really important to deliver the PC experience as quickly as possible. Look for more news on that soon,
It's likely that Mass Effect 2 for the PC will be released sometime after the Xbox 360 version is shipped.

Already happening
Bipolar Monkey — Mon, 03/17/2008 - 20:16You are exactly right! Robert Zemeckis is already starting to do this to an extent with his films...Polar Express, Monster House, Beowulf. Most of these took a matter of weeks to shoot physically instead of months. Sure the "Uncanny Valley" is still present in a lot of scene, but it's the first step towards what you've mentioned above. Pretty cool stuff.
